However the entertainment doesn’t stop there! The area of Choeng Mon is known for one of the islands best beaches. Soft white sand and calm waters make it a great family beach. The area has a good choice of restaurants and shops and is only 10 minutes drive to Chaweng Beach and a 10-15 minute drive to the famous Fisherman’s Village in Bophut.

The beach at Choeng Mon which is located on the north east of Koh Samui is sheltered within a large bay. Calm, shallow waters and soft white sand make it an ideal family setting. Kayaks are available to rent and there are a few beach massage stalls. However it is a great place to simply relax with a drink and watch the boats come and go. Visible from the beach is a tiny island known as Koh Fan Yai which at low tide is accessible by foot and makes a fantastic adventure for children. There is a handful of restaurants and bars on the beach and yet more on the road which also has a good selection of shops. The area is peaceful with a low and leisurely pace of life.
