Atulya ( meaning unrivalled in ancient Sanskrit ) is one of the superb luxury Koh Samui villas that forms the Panacea estate. The villa is located in the lush green hills of Bophut, and commands superb views of the island. The main living area which occupies nearly the entire top floor opens out onto a balcony and superb views of the tropical surroundings. High wooden ceilings and large windows and glass doors create a relaxing and spacious environment and tastefully chosen furniture and touches of Thai decor give a very stylish finish. This area also has a well equipped and modern kitchen and a dining table to seat 10 guests. Below this, beautifully landscaped tropical gardens lead to a large infinity edged swimming pool with a swim-up-to bar and dining area and a spacious sun terrace with comfortable outdoor seating and sun loungers that face towards the epic view.

The bedrooms at the Atulya are all fully air-conditioned and have sleek and well appointed en-suite bathrooms. All feature king size beds and large wardrobes and open out onto a sun terrace and views of the garden, pool and island. The 2 master suites are located on the other side of the pool and are housed in a separate building. They both have their own private terrace and feature bathtubs which are positioned in the windows and offer calming vistas of the ocean to ensure an inspiring and relaxing soak!

The villa is equipped with state of the art technology and entertainment systems, wide screen LCD TV’s and DVD players in every room and satellite channels and wireless internet throughout. The villa offers excellent in-house fitness and wellness options including, yoga, water aerobics and massage. For those of you who take your exercise and nutrition seriously, don’t forget to ask the in-house staff for a wellness menu with a selection of pre and post workout shakes and nutritious options.

Bophut Beach is several km long and extends from Maenam all the way down to Fisherman’s Village. It has golden sands with views across to the island of Koh Phangan and is a suitable beach for swimming and families.

Fisherman’s Village is located in Bophut on the north of the island and is possibly the highlight of the area. Once an authentic Thai fishing village, it is now a charming promenade with a variety of sea-side restaurants, bars and shops.  There is also a good choice of spa boutiques.

Friday nights at Fisherman’s is Walking Street, a popular evening market where locals sell tasty Thai treats and other nice nibbles, arts, crafts, clothes, tasteful souvenirs and much more. Walking Street is the perfect place to do some gift shopping and practice your haggling skills. Bophut also has a shopping centre, The Wharf which can be found next to the Village or accessed from the ring road. The Hillside in Bophut is a good destination for families who are looking for a quiet, safe environment with less commercial night-life and is conveniently placed near to reach other popular areas on the north of the island.
